I look at it this way - when Fenn published he didn't expect he'd be answering questions seven years later....he'd put together the book with the poem and expected those were sufficient to help one find the chest; difficult, but not impossible. TTOTC is important.

seannm - thanks for staying the course personally, i suspect that each clue possesses a unique separation from its previous/next clue - as to 'not' easily lead the searcher into believing that (once wwwh is nominated) the other clues should be readily recognised. so each clue should (maybe) be interpreted as 'not being vital to finding' the next and/or previous clue. (consecutive yes ..but def not 'related' in any obvious sense, imho) ( ..have i actually succeeded in staying 'on-topic' for once? - oh goodie )

I like your thoughts, Seannm, but the one I don't agree with is your stanza 1 interpretation and that you think the information there doesn't get us closer. I think people are fooling themselves when all they say about stanza 1 is that we already know f went in alone with the tc, kept it a secret and hints at old and new or such. Maybe the trick is who else mirrored this back in time. All, After Locolobo's recent re-posting of a "forgotten" Forrest interview, it seems that this theory may be gaining more traction. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.radionz.co.nz/audio/player?audio_id=2550897Host->If an unemployed guy in a pickup truck is driving across from Texas to have a look, you don’t necessarily need local knowledge, local geography knowledge?….. Fenn-> NO! THE FIRST CLUE IN THE POEM IS ‘BEGIN IT WHERE WARM WATERS HALT, THAT’S THE FIRST CLUE. IF YOU DONT..IF YOU CAN’T FIGURE THAT CLUE OUT, YOU DON’T HAVE ANYTHING! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But I ask you, in what context are we to consider the meaning of the word first? www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9czRin3Tas&list=PL4rTS-6Xa27I8mWV4BZ8kIvNAkx6A9HT2&index=4"I don't know that anybody has told me the clues in the right order" f
"if you don't know where the first clue is you might as well stay home" fAgain, I love it when a plan comes together! Seannm The second stanza starts with a complete sentence, Begin it where warm waters halt and take it in the canyon down, Not far, but too far to walk. The last part of the sentence, when laid out as a sentence, indicates that "Not far, but too far to walk" is NOT a distance. I've been saying that for a long time - it is a PLACE, not a distance....and here is the kicker, which I'll say because it isn't giving away my solve....it is the first clue in the poem, but not the first location you need to be; that is why the "right order" matters. And the first stanza helps identify what IT is and the where IT is in the second stanza....there is some a-ha! things in the poem, where you figure something out, then before or later, that something you figured out makes sense. So Fenn is correct that you need to do the clues in order so you can figure out how to use them later, to put them all together, when you solve them all.

Concur: NF, BTFTW is not a distance. It's why all the searchers that solved the first two clues walked (or drove) past the next 7.

Concur: NF, BTFTW is not a distance. It's why all the searchers that solved the first two clues walked (or drove) past the next 7. Yes, but the reason why is that they didn't know the BOTG starting location - they had the first clues, but not the starting location; there is a difference. That was one of my mistakes last month - I was in the right area, wrong starting location, which I only realized once I came home and re-evaluated things in the poem.

RahRah: WWWH *is* the starting location. It is a precise spot on the map. And Forrest long ago admitted it is the first clue.

Rahrah: then there is no doubt we have different WWWH's. My WWWH is the solution to the first clue and my starting point, not that there is any need for me to get out of my car at WWWH.

This theory is dead, according to FF it never had anything. Time to move on...

Being from Michigan, we feel like Canada is our best friend. We are crazy about Canadians! LOL when I was 19, I was dragged to Canada (Windsor) three nights a week by my friends.

Cool, I have been to Windsor a few times and Michigan many times. Michigan is a beautiful State and the northern part reminds me much of Canada.

The theory is dead, clue one is in the second stanza and second sentence and the clues are contiguous and are required to be followed in order, thus 9 sentences = 9 clues is proven logically false. Thinking otherwise is delusional. Beware of false profits saying otherwise.
