To my eyes, that fancy script reads: CU + FE (and suggests the periodic table).

Yes, that fancy script (cursive on steroids) is difficult on the eyes! For those fancy letters, I was using: EOQFD

Can anyone read the handwriting on the roses? Glad to see some people are progressing on the hunt! If something is hard to read, there's a reason for that. Think of it as part of the challenge as you would if the images were real artwork like in Masquerade or the Preiss Secret. Sadly, I don't have the skills of an artist, so it's fancy and blurry fonts for me Thanks for playing and good luck! Samantha

I wish we knew for sure if it's CU+FE OR CA+FE.

I'm gonna say the letters are Cu + Fe - for copper and iron. In Roman mythology, Cupid was the child of the goddess of love, Venus; and the god of war, Mars. The element copper (Cu) is associated with the planet Venus; and the element iron (Fe) is associated with the planet Mars. The word "Rose" can be anagrammed into the word "Eros". In Greek mythology, Cupid is called "Eros". That is the only reason I can come up as to why roses are pictured.
I don't have anything "good" for 2-11-5; but I tried counting various words and letters in the poem, the title, on the periodic table.

Herrick's End is a book but given the other text clue, I assume '4th end' refers to a poem? Yet the # 4 poems end in 'it' and 'him', neither of which seem helpful.

2-11-5 is an interesting set of numbers if associated to verse II. They are placed next to the verse II. Verse II has 21 words. 11 is middle of 21 (The Secret Treasure Hunt thing). This word is "look". Dark is word #2 counted from bottom; dark irony could be "light". Light is word #5 counted from top.

I wonder if the letters EVQFD help with the book?
