Pete stated ( in Cowlazars vlog ) and before that the hodaddy line was a major clue. I do not like the other 'between and beyond reasonable' clues I hear about, hearmeall dug up some duozzies, good work, makes me think now it is Hot springs.
One thing that could have helped with out any of the 14, 15, 16 clues, is that hot springs natl park has a MAP.... Most other parks I used had very little of a detail map .such as city parks
OMG, I went street view of hot springs from wiki google coordiNates and it took me In to a restroom , floor, toilets and all
IAMDONE. <that ain't no cipher

If Hot Springs IS the solution, then where was the flute hidden? How did so many people miss finding it? And why was it only found now, after many searches have been done?
The other questions are: 1) what clue(s) got a searcher to within a foot (or 6 inches?), and 2) was it buried in a protective container (as Nels had Timmy and Mitchell digging in the dirt at the base of the rock)

I would expect the flute to have been in some kind of protective container. There were several hints in the book to a "pod", which I took to mean a container.
I also remember at some point, Pete said there would be no digging.

Some time ago, Pete made a fb video and was wearing a purple shirt. At the end of that video he stated that it had been storming all morning and the said no RAIN now. I figured this was a hint to Purple Rain which tied in nicely with Rayne, LA.
Early on in this hunt, Pete said there were 14, 15, or 16 ways to figure out the city in the book. I didn't actually count the total number of time Purple Rain or crystal rainbow glasses were mentioned but it is probably pretty close.
I may been chasing a rabbit down a hole but once I started looking around Rayne on GE and read about the history things seemed to add up quickly.
Rayne sent two frogs into space with NASA in 1969 and that paired up with the chapter of the boy hijacking the plane and the NASA guy. One of the frogs was named Nee Tom and that seemed to remind me of the tippy canoe and Tom too.
That history document was loaded with a lot of things that seemed to match with the book.

Maybe I'm reading things wrong, but with this latest survey pb just put out today, it looks like no second hunt unless he finds a national sponsor.

Maybe I'm reading things wrong, but with this latest survey pb just put out today, it looks like no second hunt unless he finds a national sponsor. I agree. Pete also said that the prize money for the second hunt would be a "substantial" amount. Considering that he admitted in one of his videos that he hadn't even made enough money to cover the prize money for the first hunt, I am sure he is not paying for this second hunt out-of-pocket. What kind of national sponsor would want to jump on board a hunt that has already been in progress and hasn't shown much success? If this is the route Pete is trying to attempt, I don't see a second hunt taking place.

Any last guesses before we find out the correct solution? My Four Spots (All In or Around Hot Springs, AR):
1. Balanced Rock Trail 2. Charlton Trail/Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) Merge Starting at the Spring on Hickorynut Rd. in Royal, Arkansas (Charlton created Earl Grey Tea, Ouachita means Large Buffalo, Trail = Trace, both have a white blaze... The Grey Buffalo) 3. Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) - Brady Mountain Section (Had a Bench Dedicated to a man named Jeff, another bench dedicated to Tommy Sue Marsh that was next to a rock-eating tree, a Balance Rock, and all around trail mile marker 34) 4. Garvan Woodland Gardens - The only place a disabled person could realistically search with a friend. I search every one of them, too.

It's clear to me that if Hot Springs, AR was the flute's location, then the starting city that we were supposed to figure out was New Orleans (despite its utter obviousness), and we had to follow the fivesome's ENTIRE journey from start to finish to solve the ending point. If so, all the Baton Rouge clues then were thrown in to get people moving in the right direction since the route from NOLA goes through it. The clues for Hot Springs are crap compared to New Orleans and Baton Rouge, so no way Hot Springs is Pete's city with "14, 15, 16" clues.

There were many clues that pointed to the state/area/city/park of Hot Springs. I have not been listing them because I don't want to do that until the results are made public, and/or until the other hunts have been announced. But I think that there are easily that many clues.
I believe some clues have double meanings and may point to different places.

I'd like to add to my above comment.
I would be very suprised if it is revealed that the treasure was NOT found in Hot Springs. And if it was not, I would really like to know why Pete put so many clues and the cipher in the book to lead people to Hot Springs. If it was not Hot Springs, then why would he put such an obvious red herring into his book?
And if it IS Hot Springs, then how is it that so many people went there, and could not find it?

I think if it was in Hot Springs, the reason all of the folks who looked there, including me, didn't find the flute, is because it was found months ago and the finder held on to it for some reason. Maybe she was going to wait until the prize money increased, but she changed her mind. I just think it must have been found a long time ago.
