This is cool. One of my crazier theories put me near Grand Rapids. I will have to look back into that one

Interesting thought. And, you have CAM and BAMber.
From wiki:
"Gascoigne wrote Quest for the Golden Hare, a 1983 account of the internationally publicised treasure hunt associated with the publication in 1979 of Kit Williams' book Masquerade.[6] On 8 August 1979, Gascoigne was witness to the burial by Williams of a unique jewelled, solid gold hare pendant in an earthenware jar "somewhere in Britain". The book documents the search and a scandal associated with finding it"

I wish everyone would donate some of their salary to me and I will quit work and hunt treasure for a living. Maybe a gofundme page. But yeah, I will look at it later this evening if still going. Oh sure Larry, if the prize was a case of Bourbon you'd be all over it!! The car looks like a 1965 Ford Anglia. Hey choice! Turns out I was all over it! I tried one google search of "moon mars shelter orson welles" and it was the 4th result. THANK YOU to forgottenhistoryhunts!!

Those are cool looking prizes. I know I'm too late to the party. I will be working all day while someone finishes this off. Still, a big thank you forgottenhistoryhunt for the chance!

Guys, here was an idea I had.
I can understand how some people believe the puzzle leads them to the Croatoan tree and then they look north at the large Wright Brothers Monument. BUT. I think it's possibly another much smaller monument known as The Wright Brothers Garage Monument. Why? 1. It's almost straight north. (Much more due north than the big monument.) 2. The garage monument prominently features a wing. 3. The "goal" is on the monument which says "conquest of the air".
The monument is on Moor Shore Road in Kitty Hawk.
It doesn't hurt that a road named Beacon (path beckons) takes you straight to Moor Shore Road. Also doesn't hurt that a "Shore" has mica and driftwood.
The monument sits on private property. I was able to contact the owners of the house. She had already been contacted by others and also suspected that it was buried there. BUT...the current monument is a replacement from the mid 80s and DOES NOT sit in the original spot. It was moved when the road was updated.
She said she has had some gpr work done but no luck.
I believe she prefers to be left alone concerning the hunt.
Thanks!

Thanks. It wasn't any easier for me than anyone else. I didn't get anywhere until the three word hint.

Thanks, tab!
A big "thank you" also goes out to Pete Bissonette from Learning Strategies.
Thank you to Buffalo Trace Distillery.
And "thank you" to Jenny. I wouldn't have known about the hunt without this forum.

Well Goldhunter, you just have to be like a treasure hunter i.e. Indiana Jones and dodge a few natives' arrows and spears. Or one could use the same technique as BP and dress like the natives and try to avoid the incomings. Nice
