Well, that's that then. The pictures looks like Forrest is at a bank.

Absolutely astonishing! Congratulations to everyone for finally finding it. Who’s to say that we weren’t all correct in some regard. The real treasures in life are where you find them.

It is beautiful, isn't it? I'll bet the Finder had a huge smile on his face.

Some thoughts: Why is ff inventorying the contents? Where is ff? Some have said lawyers’ office, looks like a conference room with the chairs in the background. Could also be a park service office, where people come to claim or report found property... So much discussion of legalities if TC was found on USFS or NPS land. Of course they all knew about this TC. No need to hold it for 30 days. They must be thrilled it’s been found! The info identifying ff as owner was right there in the chest, and is published! When claimed, ff would need to inventory it.
Who took the pic of the chest on the ground? Looks like half of it is on old burned ground or campfire bed...and the soil color is dark gray, with old decomposing bark bits...In a forest meadow with the grass we all knew was there from the waterfall meadow chapter.
As for the soil on it...of course! It’s the Rockies, and it’s been 10 years. Very happy for ff and for the finder, but also nostalgic already, too.

Well, that's that then. The pictures looks like Forrest is at a bank. Agree: table and chairs look just like the ones in my bank's safety deposit box vault. :-)

Note: found ON the ground, not IN the ground. Take that you searchers who insisted it was buried. ;-) My theory of sepulchered is still a possibility.
At least this should squash the posts from all the boo-hooers demanding evidence it was found AND recovered.

Why is there a stick in the chest, and what is the large gold circular object?
Also, damn, no closure. Ah well.

I wonder if that little twig gold eyed serpent is the blaze... couldn’t really find the blaze and not find the chest...

Why is there a stick in the chest, and what is the large gold circular object? Also, damn, no closure. Ah well. I thought it was a stick at first, look closely and it has a little face made of gold. I'm so relieved to see this, it's some kind of closure - the chest is real and it's been found. Hopefully the finder will get a deal for a book or documentary to release further details of HOW it was solved. It's been great to be involved with this adventure, but there are always new discoveries out there... I'm not seeing the face. If you're right then this is the extra item in the chest. A stick man indeed...

In my opinion, that’s just a little twig. I thought there would be more plastic containers in the chest. I wonder what were the top two items in the chest.

Amazing to see at last, really glad Forrest got his bracelet. Thank you Forrest and everyone on here that's helped make this a great adventure - on to the next ones.
We might never know but it would be excellent if the finder was from these MW shores.
